𝓘.n this chapter, we will discuss promoting your af to reach more users. A lot of times, it's difficult for authors to get enough applications without tagging a million users and spamming message boards unless you have a lot of followers ❪ even that doesn't confirm you'll get apps ❫. So this chapter will be about some things you can do to get your af out there!

𖡙 ⎯⎯⎯⎯ 𝓞.NE COVERS, TITLES, & DESCRIPTIONS
I think that this is one of the most important things to promote your books because it's the first thing that your potential appliers will see. For me, I know that a lot of times when I'm looking for new afs to join or just scrolling through wp, I'm more attracted to books with nice covers/titles and interesting descriptions rather than basic ones. Especially with the descriptions, I like to see a little bit of what the book's going to be about before actually pressing on it. So, I think that these are really important, and it's not even really about promoting your books that much. A good rule of thumb I'd use to judge these is to just sit back and ask yourself, "if I were to stumble across this book, would i be interested in it? Would I want to press on it and explore further?" Even though this might seem SUPER obvious, I feel like a lot of times we as authors view our books as our babies, so they seem more interesting and appealing to us than they might to other users on the app. So maybe ask one of your moots too to give you their honest opinions about it. Even though it might hurt a bit to have your work closely criticized, it can really help to help get an outside view of the impression of your book.

𖡙 ⎯⎯⎯⎯ 𝓣.WO STORY TAGS
We all see this at the beginning of making our books, but we might forget about it after a while and just put a few tags before publishing. However, in my opinion, I think they're very important to the promotion of your book. I know that for me personally, I will sometimes scroll through different tags that relate to applyfics I'm looking for so that i can find new things to apply to. So do not take them for granted! You have 20 tags max, and I try to use up all of them when making my books. When you first log into the wp app or website, what's the first thing you see? It's books with tags that wp has chosen that somehow relate to you and what you read on the site. So that means that people who read similar books to tags that you put in will be more likely to have your book pop up on their homepage.

𖡙 ⎯⎯⎯⎯ 𝓣.HREE UPDATE REGULARLY, EVEN IF THE AF HASN'T STARTED YET
This might seem a bit weird, but just try it! I know that I'm more attracted to applyfics that seem like they're active, and I feel like a lot of potential appliers probably feel like that as well. Even if it's difficult and you're struggling to get applications, even posting a profile of one of the ocs or an "incorrect quotes" chapter for the apps you've already accepted, it does help. It'll show other users that you're planning on actually updating the book, and probably get them more interested in the story as well!

𖡙 ⎯⎯⎯⎯ 𝓕.OUR PROMOTION BOOKS
I've seen these around places, but I haven't personally tried them myself. books like these have the purpose of promoting and encouraging interested users to apply to afs that need it. I'm planning on adding a promotion section to this book, so look forward to it! it's not ready yet, so it'll probably still be a while into the future.
